In Japan is a considerably unique house. It is a very top heavy design, leaving lots of empty space below and giving it the appearance of floating. This design is more than a house though, it also contains a public gallery too.
One of my favourite parts of this design is the wooden cladding which wraps around the whole exterior surface. I would like to use different materials to differentiate between the public and private components of my design. Wooden cladding is of particular interest to me.
I am also very interested in how the shadows form in my design. I like this image below which shows bands of light being cast through onto the wall. It is these kinds of shapes and patterns created by light which intrigue me, and I would like to include them in my own proposal where possible.
