I had a look into the BIG architectural group and found a project called 'Lego Towers'. What came up was quite astounding and can be seen below.
What draws me to this project and fascinates me about it so much, is it's simplicity. The way that the towers are made up from such basic shapes, layer upon layer upon layer, it creates something very complex out of such a simple system. Furthermore, this design creates it's own landscape. The image below shows the topography of the towers.
I love that people can just walk over and amongst the architecture, without having to skirt around it. This isn't just a place to be lived in, its a place to be explored. And I feel that this is a key point to the project, and one which should be kept in mind for my own project in Lumsdale Valley. One of the aspects of the visit to the site which I enjoyed the most was the sense of mystery and exploration, this should remain intact regardless of my design. If anything, the design should enhance this, it should encourage exploration of the site.
