Uitkijktoren Bij Natuurpoort Reusel Found in the Netherlands, this observation tower is designed in a very interesting way. It looks similar to a series of stacked boxes. Each floor has windows facing in a different direction to the last one. This means that as a visitor walks through the building, they get to see a new, framed view. It is this kind of design element which creates an experience and encourages people to continue exploring. I like the bottom image here which shows people looking through the gaps in the wood. Despite the open view right next to them, they are still interested in looking through the gaps. This is an idea which I think could make a great part of a design. Looking through nature, at nature. Why not hide and reveal things? I like the idea of creating an experience and/ or a journey. |
